Veterinary Technicians

Peggy BojanskiPeggy Bojanski is a graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program, a division of the University of Nebraska's School of Technical Agriculture. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Nebraska. She began working at Pitts Veterinary Hospital in May, 1976.

Peggy has one Schipperke, Yogi, and five outside cats: Nico, JC, Queenie, Bunny, and Carl. She also has two horses, Snag and Tuxie, and a pony named LeeRoy.

Peggy's hobbies include trail riding, and she is a member of the Nebraska Frontier Scouts. She also enjoys auctions and antiques and has several different items she collects. Along with the trail riding, she enjoys camping as well.

Sue DavisSue Davis is a certified Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Nebraska. She graduated from the Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis in May of 1977. She has been employed in the animal care field for 33 years. She began working at Pitts Veterinary Hospital April 1, 1980.

Sue says "Pitts Hospital is a very good place to work, and that the bosses are very nice and fair. "We are like family," she says. "We work as a team. I am honored to work here."

Sue has three indoor cats. Mel, a domestic long hair, is her "handsome, naughty one." Bean is a brown and black tiger, a very special guy because he arrived the summer her mom died. Budders, another short hair, is white and orange striped, and is her "angel boy." There are three outside cats as well.

Sue and her husband enjoy bargain hunting. She loves to bake and cook. Family is very important to her.

Mandi is a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician, licensed in the state of Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She has been employed at Pitts Veterinary Hospital since October, 2002.

Mandi has 4 dogs, Asher, Haley, Nalee & Holden, and 1 cat, Chelsea. She also fosters dogs for Nebraska Italian Greyhound Rescue and Big Dogs Huge Paws, Inc.

Mandi enjoys camping, hiking, canoeing and canal jumping. She is also a member of Spelunkers Anonymous.

Anna WhaleyAnna Whaley is a Veterinary Technician, licensed in the state of Nebraska, working at Pitts Veterinary Hospital full-time. Anna earned a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture and Animal Science from Northeast Missouri State University. She also received an Associate's degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

She worked for Pitts Hospital from 1988 to 1989 as a kennel attendant when she was in high school. She returned in 1995 as a veterinary technician intern, and again in 2002 as a licensed technician. She is a member of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA).

Anna has known several of the doctors and technicians at Pitts Hospital since she was a child. She enjoys working here because "while everyone has a high standard of professionalism," she says, "we all work well together and enjoy great friendships."

Anna’s pets include a Brittany named Dirk, and four cats: Digger, Princess, Sasha and Piper. All are domestic short or medium haired cats of various colors.

Anna is married with two children. In her spare time, Anna enjoys camping, fishing, reading, and is involved in her children's sports.

Linda BowersLinda Bowers is a licensed Veterinary Technician in the State of Nebraska. In 2005 she attended tech school at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE, where she earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science. In 2007 she transferred to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology with the science option in 2009.

She started working at Pitts Veterinary Hospital in May, 2007, as a part-time Licensed Veterinary Technician and began working full-time in January, 2010. Linda also fills in as a receptionist when needed. She also works part-time at the Lincoln Children's Zoo where she assists Dr. Falloon, the attending zoo veterinarian, in routine exams and with animal medical emergencies.

At home, Linda cares for a Bernese Mountain Dog-Great Pyrenees Cross named Jayda.

Nicole RettigNicole Rettig is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who graduated from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis. She started part-time with Pitts Veterinary Hospital in August, 2013. She is now a full-time technician with Pitts and a part-time groomer at Kenl Inn. She trains her own dogs and enjoys taking them to the dog parks.

She likes working at Pitts Veterinary Hospital because of the number of doctors she gets to work with and the way things are done here. She loves the people and animals and also enjoys working with exotics and has several of her own: a Sun Conure Rio, a corn snake, and 3 rats.

Nicole also has 3 dogs: Copper, a Pomeranian, Reeces, a Beagle mix, Nya, a German Shorthair Pointer, and 2 cats, Divot and Harley.

In her spare time, Nicole likes being outdoors with her dogs, and also enjoys doing crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and making collar bows.

Bailee Marie TopilBailee Marie Topil has been employed at Pitts Veterinary Hospital since June 2016. She is a full-time Technician. Bailee attended the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, and has interned with the Humane Society in Lincoln. She enjoys working with animals and learning about new and interesting cases.

Bailee’s pets include four rats named Kovu, Kane, Koda and Karma; three ferrets named Freido, Ruffles and Dorito; a hedgehog named Edgar, a collard lizard named Rocket, and Rusty, a bearded dragon.

Bailee’s hobbies include drawing, soccer and Husker sports.
